Common Divorce Questions

If you and your spouse can agree to all the major terms of your divorce, then an Uncontested Divorce may be right for you.

An Uncontested Divorce is probably not right for you if:

– have a poor understanding of each other’s assets and/or debts,
– have difficulty agreeing upon child custody/child visitation or child support arrangements, or
– cannot agree on how to split assets and debts acquired during the marriage.

You are welcome to contact us to discuss any questions or concerns you may have regarding your divorce.

This service has been designed to accommodate a wide array of circumstances. However, if you or your spouse meet any of the following conditions, then you should not start the Uncontested Divorce process:

– are under the age of 18,
– are pregnant or expecting a child,
– have an open bankruptcy,
– wish to have sole custody, supervised visitation, terminate parental rights of a child,
– have custody of another person’s child (inc. grandchildren),
– have assets greater than $1 million,
– have complex financial arrangements, or
– do not have a clear understanding of one another’s assets and/or debts.

If you meet any of these conditions and would like to discuss your options, please contact us to arrange a consultation.

The website provides for families with children.

Please note:

– If you or your spouse had a child with a third party during the marriage, then the appropriate acknowledgment of paternity and denial of paternity forms will need to be completed and filed with the court before the final hearing.
– The Firm can not offer Uncontested Divorce services if you and/or your spouse currently share custody of one or more children with a third party, this includes grandchildren.

If you meet either of these criteria and want to know more, please contact us to discuss your options in more detail.
